Dive Sites
Dive in Komodo
Embark on a mesmerizing dive adventure in Komodo with Scubaspa ZEN Indonesia!
From April to September, join us on extraordinary seven to ten-night expeditions in the renowned Komodo National Park. Originally established to protect the iconic Komodo Dragon, this park now also encompasses a captivating marine environment. Nestled approximately 400 km east of Bali, between East and West Nusa Tenggara islands, Komodo's unique location in the Flores Sea creates a diving paradise.
The convergence of southward-flowing Pacific currents and the Indian Ocean via narrow, deep channels known as the Indonesian Throughflow results in strong currents and nutrient-rich upwellings in Komodo's dive sites. This dynamic environment fosters an abundance of marine life activity and promises exceptional drift diving experiences!
Below the surface, a diverse array of submerged seamounts, pinnacles, channels, and plateaus become home to an impressive array of marine life. Marvel at the sight of hundreds of hard coral species, flourishing fish populations, majestic manta rays, graceful turtles, playful dolphins, and the delightful company of macro critters like shrimps, nudibranchs, and pygmy seahorses.
Explore world-renowned dive sites such as Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, the Yellow Wall of Texas, and Shotgun, where each diver is sure to be spellbound by the wonders that await beneath the waves. Join Scubaspa ZEN Indonesia and immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Komodo's underwater realm!
Dive in Raja Ampat
Discover the awe-inspiring world of Raja Ampat, where dreams come true for divers aboard Scubaspa ZEN Indonesia!
Translated as "Four Kings," Raja Ampat derives its name from the four main islands—Misool, Salawati, Batantas, and Waigeo. Nestled in Indonesia's West Papua province, in the Northwest corner of the Bird's Head Peninsula, this archipelago spans an extensive 9,100 square kilometers, with seven Marine Protected Areas. An absolute epicenter of marine diversity.
Jaw-dropping limestone cliffs rise from the sparkling turquoise waters, surrounded by pristine fringing coral reefs, blue water drop-offs, mangrove flats, and seagrass beds. Water temperatures generally range between 24 and 29 degrees Celsius, and strong currents characterize many dive sites in the region.
Immerse yourself in the beauty of Dampier Strait, Gam, Mansuar, and the stunning Misool, the crown jewel of Raja Ampat. Traverse topography filled with vertical walls, caves, lagoons, and slopes, where manta rays frequent their cleaning stations, sharks roam, turtles glide gracefully, and pygmy seahorses cling to gorgonian fans in the currents. Prepare for incredible macro life sightings and marvel at the rare and endemic bird species, including the captivating bird of paradise.
Scubaspa ZEN Indonesia invites you to experience the unparalleled wonders of Raja Ampat, both above and below the surface. Embark on a journey that promises to fulfill every diver's wildest dreams and creates memories that will last a lifetime.
Dive in Maluku Islands
Explore the hidden treasures of the Banda Sea in the captivating Maluku Islands!
The Banda Sea is renowned for its crystalline waters and mesmerizing underwater landscapes adorned with sheer walls adorned with abundant soft corals, sea fans, and sponges. An October highlight is the thrilling possibility of encountering schooling hammerhead sharks, making it a must-visit destination for avid divers.
Beyond the allure of large pelagics, the Banda Sea holds many secret wonders. This exceptionally remote region boasts a low population, and its dive sites are accessible only by liveaboard, preserving the marine ecosystems in near-pristine condition.
Surface waters in the Banda region maintain a comfortable temperature, ranging between 26 and 29 degrees Celsius. However, the oceanographic conditions can introduce cooler nutrient-rich waters with upwellings and thermoclines, creating fresh temperatures of 21-22 degrees Celsius. For your utmost comfort, we recommend donning a full 5mm wetsuit when diving in this fascinating region.
Join Scubaspa ZEN Indonesia and immerse yourself in the captivating beauty and untamed wonders of the Maluku Islands. Discover the magic that awaits below the surface, where every dive promises to be an unforgettable adventure.
Please note
The maximum depth of the dives is limited to 40 meters. Diving with a computer is mandatory, and it is prohibited to dive alone or do decompression dives. Night and deep dives (deeper than 18 meters / 60 feet) are available only to divers with advanced diver certification. You can upgrade your certification level with one of our PADI instructors at anytime during your stay onboard.
